CALL FOR ARTISTS

This World Water Day (March 22nd, 2022), Gravity Water is working with artists from around the world towards a shared goal of providing access to safe drinking water to schools in need while also supporting our local artisan community. 

PROVIDING CLEAN WATER.

Since 2016, Gravity Water has worked with communities around the world, bringing access to safe drinking water to over 39,000 students at schools in developing regions.

Gravity Water uses a brand-new approach to clean water access, which combines rainwater harvesting, elevated storage, and gravity-fed filtration, providing communities with a source of safe drinking water that is on-site, self-sustaining, climate resilient, and 100% energy and pump-free.

​Through this method, Gravity Water systems are able to be built using local materials and skill sets within the communities, removing the need for imported skills and technology and increasing local ownership and long-term resiliency for the community water system.

Gravity Water believes creating a better world is a passion we all share. Our goal is to create a platform where individuals, like you, can use your skills, passion, and talent to create a better life for others in need around the world.

SUPPORTING LOCAL ARTISTS.

We believe that supporting the community that helps make Gravity Water's work possible is as important as supporting the communities who rely on our clean water systems. That's why we created a profit-share model, allowing artists the opportunity to chose how they'd like to be compensated for their work, if at all.

This model works through providing artists the opportunity to donate 25% -100% of the revenue generated from the art piece(s) they auction towards clean water access for schools. Artists can retain anywhere from 25%-75% of the profits, up to the retail value of their artwork. 

This model allows artists to leverage their craft and skill set to create a positive impact while also generating income for themselves and growing their audience and customer base throughout the future.

HOW TO APPLY

STEP 1: Fill out the form below.

STEP 2: After filling out the Call for Artists form (above), Gravity Water will contact you by email, providing you with a link to a submission form similar to the one above. Through this form, each artist will be able to submit up to three art pieces they can feature for auction.

STEP 3: On March 1st, Gravity Water's World Water Day Auction will go live, allowing community members to bid on your auction item. This is when you can start sharing the auction and promoting it throughout your community!

​STEP 4: From March 1st - March 22nd, both the artists and Gravity Water will be promoting the auction. On March 22nd at 11:59 PM PST, the World Water Day Auction will close, with winners being announced the following day.

The Communities We're Supporting

Lào Cai Province of Vietnam
Lào Cai is one of the northern most regions in Vietnam, consisting of beautiful mountains and rural communities. Gravity Water has been working in Lào Cai for the past four years, providing 25 schools and approximately 7,800 students with an on-site source of safe drinking water they can depend on throughout the future.

​In 2022, Gravity Water plans on expanding its impact in the Lào Cai province significantly, doubling its impact to 50 schools through private- and public-sector partnerships and global community activations, such as the World Water Day Artisan Auction.

Kavrepalanchowk District of Nepal
Kavrepalanchowk District is located in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal, consisting of rural hill communities that lay beneath the Himalaya mountain range. Gravity Water has been working in the Kathmandu Valley since 2016, providing over 16,000 children in 23 schools with access to safe drinking water.

​In 2022, Gravity Water plans on expanding its impact in the Kavrepalanchowk District significantly, doubling its impact to 50 schools through collaboration with Municipality governments, private partnerships, and global community activations, such as the World Water Day Artisan Auction.
