CALL FOR ARTISTS
This World Water Day (March 22nd, 2021), Gravity Water is working with local artists from around the world for a shared goal of providing access to safe drinking water to communities in need while also supporting our local artisan community.
PROVIDING CLEAN WATER.
Since 2016, Gravity Water has worked with communities around the world, bringing access to safe drinking water to over 25,000 students at schools in developing regions.
Gravity Water uses a brand-new approach to clean water access, which combines rainwater harvesting, elevated storage, and gravity-fed filtration, providing communities with a source of safe drinking water that is on-site, self-sustaining, resilient, and 100% energy and pump-free.
Through this method, Gravity Water systems are able to be built using local materials and skill sets within the communities, removing the need for imported skills and technology and increasing local ownership and long-term resiliency for the community water system.
Gravity Water believes creating a better world is a passion we all share. Our goal is to create a platform where individuals, like you, can use your skills, passion, and talent to create a better life for others in need around the world.
SUPPORTING LOCAL ARTISTS.
We believe that supporting the community that helps make Gravity Water's work possible is as important as supporting the communities who rely on our clean water systems. That's why we created a 50/50 model, allowing artists the opportunity to be fairly compensated for their work.
The 50/50 model works through ensuring up to 50% of the sale price from the auction (up to 2x the retail value of the art item) goes to the artist. This is done through working with the artist to establish a "Minimum Asking Price" and Market Value Price".
The Minimum Asking Price is the amount the artist is willing to let go of the art item. This price is then doubled, which determines the "starting bid" price for the art item. The Market Value Price is the price that the artist would sell the art item in the public market (retail price). The artist will receive 50% of the sale price of the item up to 2x this price.
For artists wishing to donate their art to the cause, the auction will open at 50% of the Market Value Price.
Every $8 raised towards clean water efforts provides a child with access to a permanent source of safe drinking water.
