Description
Gravity Water is a US-based 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization that focuses on providing clean drinking water to communities in developing countries by utilizing a unique, electricity-free approach. Our organization is seeking a highly motivated university student to fill the Gravity Water Youth Initiative (GWYI) Coordinator position. The GWYI Coordinator will assist the Gravity Water Management Team in developing and growing the GWYI program by collaborating with local schools within their region. Interns will be responsible for providing youth with the guidance to carry out educational fundraisers within their school and community to help fund construction of Gravity Water Systems in Nepal, Vietnam, or Indonesia.

Interns will gain professional skill sets in the following areas:
*Interns who successfully participate in a Gravity Water internship program will earn a full-expense paid trip to participate in a Gravity Water project abroad.

Responsibilities
Essential job responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to:
- Engaging local schools in the GWYI program, securing active campaigns in elementary, middle and high schools (*TEMPORARY VIRTUAL CAMPAIGN FOCUS IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19)
- Assist schools in planning and implementing educational fundraising campaigns focused on raising awareness about the Global Water Crisis and Gravity Water’s approach to funding clean water systems for schools in developing countries
- Work closely with the Director of Youth Engagement to fulfill management protocols, including weekly assessment meetings, strategic project planning, and GWYI campaign logistics
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Passion about facilitating clean water access throughout the global community
- Some experience in project management, coordination, and planning
- An academic focus in education, environmental studies, global studies, or related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Time commitment: 5+ hours per week
- Experience with G-Suite (Google’s apps)
- Youth Education and Mentorship
- Leadership experience, including ASB, Interact Club, or related programs

In addition, this position will provide leadership experience in gaining, coordinating, and managing a comprehensive team for the annual World Water Day event in their region. The Community Engagement Coordinator will be working closely with the Director of Special Events and Community Engagement global team throughout their internship period.
