Since 2021, Los Gatos High School has provided
children with a daily source of safe drinking water at schools in Nepal and Vietnam.
Help us reach over 800 children in 2022.

In 2022, Los Gatos High School is partnering with Gravity Water to provide Pa Cheo Secondary School with an 3,500 liter on-site clean water filtration system that provides students and staff with clean drinking water. Less than 1% of the earth's water is accessible for drinking. Over 2 billion people around the world rely on a contaminated water source every day, including Pa Cheo Secondary School. Currently, 314 students are attending Pa Cheo Secondary School, ages 11 to 14.
Help us reach our goal of providing the students and staff of Pa Cheo Secondary School in Vietnam with an on-site clean water system for daily drinking and hand washing.

Los Gatos High School's
Walk4Water Campaign
To help spread awareness about the Global Water Crisis and fundraise to build a clean water system at Pa Cheo Secondary School in Vietnam, Los Gatos High School is hosting a "Walk4Water" campaign. The Walk4Water campaign is centered on an inclusive, free, and virtual event where individuals can walk, run, or hike 6 kilometers to raise awareness about the Global Water Crisis and encourage donations toward their fundraising campaigns.
On May 1st 2022, at 11:30 am we will be meeting at Vasona Park (333 Blossom Hill Rd, Los Gatos, CA 95032) to walk for 6km, which is the average distance women and children have to walk to gather sometimes contaminated drinking water. We will be walking to raise awareness to the Global Water Crisis and raise money to provide Pa Chao Secondary School in Bat Xat Vietnam with the Gravity water filter. Please bring walking shoes! There will be a snack station with baked goods and drinks at the end of the walk, where all of the funds will go directly to the Water filtration system.

OUR SISTER SCHOOL: Pa Cheo Secondary School
Bát Xát, Lào Cai, Vietnam
Bát Xát, Lào Cai, Vietnam
Students at Los Gatos High School decided to choose Pa Cheo Secondary School, located in Bát Xát, Lào Cai, Vietnam, as their benefiting sister school.
Currently, Pa Cheo Secondary School lacks access to a reliable on-site source of water. The school currently contaminated surface water and spring water. Gravity Water and Pa Cheo Secondary School are working together to bring a Gravity Water system to the school, which will provide them with a free, reliable, and daily source of safe water that is on-site and meets U.S. EPA-rated standards. Every $8 donated provides one child with safe drinking water.

Los Gatos High School's Clean Water Impact To Date
2021 Clean Water Campaign
Los Gatos High School’s 2021 Campaign brought clean drinking water to Madan Bhandari Memorial School, a school located in Besigaun of Gokarneshwor Municipality of Nepal. Without access to fresh water, Madan Bhandari Memorial School was dependent on a government tap (a network of pipes delivering contaminated river or spring water to the community); or a private underground bore (drilled well). Both sources suffer from poor quality in the wet season as surface waters are contaminated by runoff, while in summer and dry season, the quantity of water is insufficient. Year round, the bore quality is poor due to groundwater contamination. Through support from the 2021 Los Gatos High School fundraiser Campaign, Gravity Water worked with the Madan Bhandari Memorial School and the Besigaun Community to install a rainwater harvesting system, which is providing the entire school of 500 students with a daily source of safe drinking water. |
