Nepal Initiative
Since 2016, Gravity Water has worked with over 20 schools and communities in Nepal, providing a daily source of safe drinking water to over 12,000 Nepalese children and community members.
$8 provides a child with access to a permanent source of safe drinking water.
Overview
In 2015, Gravity Water's Founder and Executive Director, Danny Wright, took a one-way flight to Nepal to apply his knowledge of clean water access, and his innovative approach for creating it, to help schools recover from the devastating earthquakes that took place earlier that year. By early 2016, the first Gravity Water system was installed at a school in Jorpati, Kathmandu, which provided 500 students with safe drinking water, every day. After realizing the dire need and simplicity in the solution, Danny Wright founded Gravity Water as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, establishing a framework to scale the solution to reach more schools and communities in need.
Since then, Gravity Water has expanded its impact and reach in Nepal to 23 schools and communities in the Kathmandu and Kavrepalanchowk Districts, providing an estimated 14,000+ students and staff members with safe drinking water, every single day.

Nepal Program Development
Gravity Water is currently in Phase III of the Organization's five-stage development strategy for Nepal. Over the last year, Gravity Water has successfully launched Gravity Water Nepal, a Nepali-registered and operated NGO that will be taking over Gravity Water's projects and growth within the country throughout the future. Over the next year, Gravity Water will be focusing developing strategic partnerships with district-level educational departments, locally-operating NGOs, and the private market sector. Additionally, Gravity Water will be implementing the organization's Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Program to collect data on key indicators, such as changes in gastrointestinal illness rates, school attendance, and school- to district-level educational outcomes.
