Our Story in Nepal

In 2015, Gravity Water's Founder and Executive Director, Danny Wright, took a one-way flight to Nepal to apply his knowledge of clean water access, and his innovative approach for creating it, to help schools recover from the devastating earthquakes that took place earlier that year. By early 2016, the first Gravity Water system was installed at a school in Jorpati, Kathmandu, which provided 500 students with safe drinking water, every day. After realizing the dire need and simplicity in the solution, Danny Wright founded Gravity Water as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, establishing a framework to scale the solution to reach more schools and communities in need.

Since then, Gravity Water has expanded its impact and reach in Nepal to 23 schools and communities in the Kathmandu and Kavrepalanchowk Districts, providing an estimated 14,000+ students and staff members with safe drinking water, every single day.
